GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the administrator for all information technologies that support the business functions (accounting, purchasing, payroll and human resources) of Roanoke City Public Schools.

 

ESSENTIAL TASKS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A high skill level in the use of a personal computer and word processing software, databases, spreadsheets, and report generation; a knowledge of the structure and workings of business information technology systems, particularly enterprise resource planning software; a working knowledge of basic business functions (ex. purchasing, payroll, accounting) and operations (experience with or a knowledge of governmental business operations is preferred); the ability to analyze processes and systems and research best practices; clear written and verbal communication skills; customer service skills working with employees across multiple departments within the school division and with external vendors; knowledge of training techniques; the ability to lead training workshops; and the ability to work independently.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in business information technology, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

 

Experience working with Keystone ERP and UKG Ready time management system preferred but not required.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is primarily in a clean, temperature-controlled office environment and requires a high level of visual work and repetitive hand and waist motion.  Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks.

Inside office environmental conditions exist (temperature controlled, low hazard, low noise level).
